I'm Here - I Promise!!

Hello everyone!  I know I've been gone for way too long, but I have a really good excuse!  Check out these two cuties:
I would like to introduce you to Alexander Taylor and Oliver Louis.  They were born on 9.2.10.  Xander weighed 7#11oz, 19 1/4" long and born at 1:44 pm.  Oliver weighed 6#8oz, 20" long and born at 2:09 pm.

The birth didn't go quite as planned and Oliver was born via emergency c-section.  He ended up staying in the NICU for 15 days.  Oliver was not breathing when he was born and had a couple of seizures once they did get him breathing.  Everything appears to be fine and we haven't seen any complications since he's been home.  It was a super stressful time for all of us but now that everyone is home we have been adjusting to being a family of six!!

Mike was able to be home for the first six weeks which was great!  This week was actually my first full week of being home alone with all of them by myself.  It was stressful at times but we have survived :)
I have still been couponing (when I can get away), I just haven't been posting.  I plan to start posting again soon and actually had a fabulous shopping trip to Target this past week that I want to brag about :)

I hope everyone is doing well.  I've been reading all the blogs and hope you're all still stopping by mine.  I'll update again soon!!

CVS 8/15

I'm still here - doing some bargain shopping when I'm feeling up to it.  The babies will be evicted in less than 3 weeks.  The induction has been scheduled for Sept. 2 and I am ready for the day to come.  We still have a couple things left to purchase though and I am a little stressed about that.  Especially since two of the items that we need (another car seat and crib mattress) we have to get BEFORE they arrive.  Other than that I think we're prepared.  We got Noah moved into Logan's room and that has gone surprisingly well.

I had a great trip to CVS today!  Here is what I purchased:
10 SoBe drinks BOGO free
used (5) BOGO free coupons from SoBe.com
2 Right Guard deodorants BOGO free
used BOGO free coupon
Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets $5.99, get $2
used $3 Purex coupon
Zegerid OTC $9.99, get $7
used $3 Zegerid coupon (expires today!!)
2 Crest toothpastes $3.49 each, get $2.50 each
used (2) $.75 Crest coupons
Blink Tears $7.99, get $7.99
used $1.50 Blink IP coupon
used $4/$20 CVS coupon
used $18.98 ECBs
=$1.27 OOP, received $21.99 ECBs

My OOP should have actually been higher but for some reason I was able to apply some of my ECBs towards the tax.

I did another transaction since we were out of batteries and the CVS ones are BOGO free this week.

2 - 16 pks. CVS batteries $9.99 each - BOGO free
used $7.99 ECBs
=$2.60 OOP

My OOP would have been lower if I had remembered to use another $2 in ECBs.  Oh well, under $3 for 32 batteries isn't a bad deal :)

CVS 7/17

I've had some great shopping trips to CVS lately and finally think I've got a good supply of diapers for when the twins arrive.  I'll still be buying diapers but now I'll make sure I can get them for under $2-$3 per pack.  Here is what I picked up on Saturday:

Celsius green tea $7.99, get $7.99
used $2 Celsius IP coupon
Huggies pull-ups $8.99, get $3
used $2 Huggies IP coupon
Veet gel cream $10.99, get $2
used $3 Veet coupon (Reinventing Beauty mag.)
used $2 CVS CRT
used $4/$20 CVS coupon
used $11 ECBs
=$5.41 OOP, received $12.99 ECBs

I could have just bought the smaller bottle of Veet to keep my OOP even lower but this bottle gave me over double the amount and since I had the CRT to use on top of the mannie I thought I might as well get more for my money.  And once I figured in the $4/$20 that I was using in the end the Veet didn't cost me anything!

2 John Frieda shampoo/conditioner $5 each, get $3 wyb $10
used (2) $3 JF coupons
used $1 JF CVS CRT
used $8 ECBs
=$2.97 OOP, received $15 ECBs

I almost doubled my ECBs on this transaction alone!!  I was so happy about my purchases I almost did a happy dance out of the store last night :)

The Week of Diapers

I picked up a TON of diapers this week!  Both CVS and Target had great deals on them so I figured I might as well stock up while I can in preparation for the twins arrival :)  Sorry - no picture - they are all put away in the closet and arranged by size.  But here is a breakdown of what I got:

CVS
5 pkgs. Pampers $8.49 each, received $1 ECBs on some
used (5) $3 CVS coupons
used (3) $1.50 Pampers coupons
used $4/$20 CVS coupon

Most of the diapers were bought on separate transactions and with some other CVS deals.  I paid approximately $3.79/pack of diapers, which is awesome!!  If you calculate that to a per diaper cost it comes to less than 10 cents/diaper!!

Target
15 pkgs. Huggies $8.99 each, get $5 g.c. wyb 3
3 pkgs. Pull-ups $8.99 each, get $5 g.c. wyb 3
used (13) $3 Huggies coupons
used (2) $2 Huggies coupons
used (3) $2 Pull-ups coupons
used (15) $1.50 Huggies Target coupons
used (6) $5 Target gift cards
=$60.32 OOP, received $10 Target gift cards

Obviously I didn't buy all of these at once.  I think I did two trips to Target but did four separate transactions.  I had started out with $10 in gift cards so I just rolled those.  I paid about $3.35/pack of diapers/pull-ups and it works out to about 8 cents/diaper if you figure I bought mostly newborn or size 1's.  This was a great week to stock up and many thanks goes to my Mom & Aunt Raylene for printing me out the Huggies coupons!!  Those $3 coupons were awesome :)

CVS Shopping 4/26-4/27

Last night I thought I was being absolutely brilliant ;)  I had to work until 9:30 so I got my CVS scenario all planned out and thought it would be perfect - I could shoot over to CVS after work and do the Avatar deal for Mike.  Since I knew both of our stores sell out of things super-fast I didn't want to wait until this morning to do the deal.  Boy, was I wrong.  Luckily, though, I had printed out some back-up coupons just in case they were out of the items I initially wanted to buy.  Here is what I purchased:

Oh, I also had a $5/$40 coupon that spit out at the magic machine so my total needed to be at least that.

Irish Spring $2.99, get $2
used $1 Irish Spring coupon (CVS reinventing beauty mag)
Softsoap $2.99, get $2
used $1 Softsoap coupon (CVS reinventing beauty mag)
Earinse $7.99, get $7.99 (raincheck item)
2 All detergents 2/$7
used (2) $1 All coupons (CVS re-beauty mag)
4 Chips Ahoy $1 each
used (2) $1/2 coupons
6 boxes asst. General Mills cereals $2.44 each
used (2) $1/2 coupons
used $.75 coupon
used $.55 coupon
Avatar movie $4.99 wyb $25 (actually $24.75) in qualifying products
used $5/$40 CVS coupon
used $8.48 ECBs
=$22.17 OOP, received $12 ECBs

Not a bad deal when you consider what I all got BUT it could have been even better if they had had the Fig Newtons for $1 (had 4-$1 coupons) and Chocolate Cheerios (had 2-$1 coupons).

This morning after Noah & I went to the chiropractor I stopped at the other CVS in town.  Of course they had both the Fig Newtons and Cheerios in stock along with all the other stuff needed to do the Avatar deal - LOL.  That'll teach me!!

Irish Spring $2.99, get $2
used $1 Irish Spring coupon
Softsoap $2.99, get $2
used $1 coupon
2 pkgs. Fig Newtons $1 each
used (2) $1 coupons
Pampers diapers $8.49, get $1
used $1.50 coupon
used $3 CVS coupon (found HERE)
4 Vitamin waters $1 each
used (2) $1/2 coupons
2 CVS sunscreens $2.19 each, get $5
used $10 ECBs
=$5.56 OOP, received $10 ECBs

In order to print the Pampers coupons you'll need to register for the online version of the Parents magazine.  The coupon probably won't scan at the store but if they manually type in the bar code number it works just fine.  Can't beat getting diapers for only $3!!

CVS 4/17

I made a run to CVS Saturday night - I was hoping to capitalize on the overlapping deals and use some CRTs that I had received there.  Here is what I got:
2 CVS single roll toilet paper 2/$1
used $1 CVS paper product CRT
6 Vitamin waters $1 each
used (3) $1/2 Vitamin water coupons
CVS mens body wash $.99
used $1 CVS body product CRT
2 Thermacare products $2.49 each, get $2.49
2 Revlon lipsticks BOGO 50% off and get $3 wyb $10
used (2) $3 Revlon coupons
used $5/2 Revlon lip product CRT
A&D diaper cream $6.49
used $1 A&D coupon
used $5 A&D CRT
used $5/$30 CVS coupon
used $7 ECBs
=$2.33 OOP, received $7.98 ECBs

Because the Revlon deal was overlapping the $3 ECB had to be manually printed out.  Thank goodness there were great cashiers working that night since they knew what to do!  I had not even realized that the Revlon was on sale this past week so I really scored on the lipstick!!  I paid $7.99 for one and $3.99 for the second so after the coupons and ECB I got two tubes of lipstick for a profit of $2.02 - can't beat a deal like that!!

This week's sales aren't all that exciting.  I will probably do the Thermacare on my other card and use up some more CRTs.  I have some for Huggies wipes that should make them pretty inexpensive.  Any great deals that you saw at CVS?  Let me know!

CVS 4/5

My Mom & I made a run to CVS last night.  We had each received a $5/$30 coupon that we wanted to use.  We had a couple things on our lists to buy but they didn't add up to the $30.  We were hoping to find some deals once we got to the store.  I think both of us found some great deals.  Here are mine:

4 Veet spray on $2.25 each (clearance!!)
used (4) $3 Veet coupons (CVS coupon insert)
Colgate toothpaste $2.99, get $2
used $.75 Colgate coupon
2 Pantene products $2.99 each, get $1 each
used $3/2 Pantene coupon
Stride gum $.99, get $.99
used $.50 Stride coupon
3 Dawn dishsoaps $.96 each
used (3) $.50 Dawn coupons
Complete contact solution $8.99, get $8.99
2 packs of CVS batteries $6.49 each, BOGO free
used $5/$30 CVS coupon
used $10 ECBs
= $9.51 OOP, received $13.98 ECBs

Even though I did have a pretty high OOP I still think I did well.  I picked up batteries (which we were out of!!).  I have been hunting for the clearanced Pampers.  I've heard reports that some CVS stores has them as low as $1.75 - has anyone found them?  One of the CVS stores had them for $8.75 but I would like to pay less than $3/pack after coupons.

CVS 4/3

Sorry for my lack of posting last week.  We took a four day trip to Red Lodge, MT with my parents and brother.  We left Noah in ND with his Great Aunts, Great Grandma and Grandma who all proceeded to spoil him :)  Logan went with and got to go skiing for the first time - he was a natural and had a blast!!  When we got back I managed to max out the Pampers deals on my cards at CVS and this past week I did the Huggies deal too.  I'm starting to stock-up on the diapers for when the twins arrive.  Saturday night my Mom & I ran to CVS (she was nice enough to do the Huggies deal for me too).  Here is what I got:

2 Sweetarts candies 2/$1 (for Easter baskets)
Kashi heart to heart cereal $3
used FREE coupon from VocalPoint
2 Frappucino drinks
used (2) $1 IP coupons
Colgate Total toothpaste $2.99, get $2
used $1 Colgate coupon (April All You)
Complete contact solution $8.99, get $8.99
2 Pantene products $2.99 each, get $1
used $3/2 Pantene coupon
Stride gum $.99, get $.99
used $.50 Stride coupon
used $5/$25 CVS coupon
used $10 ECBs
=$3.43 OOP, received $13.98 ECBs

I'm hoping to buy some more of the Pantene/Head & Shoulders this week and some of the other free after ECBs deals going on.  Unfortunately, I don't have any $/$$ CVS coupons so they most likely will not be big money makers.

I am hoping to do a garage sale sometime in May and will be selling some of my stockpile at that time.

Target Trip 3/25

I'm hoping to hit Target again tonight (possibly twice) and hopefully at least once again on Saturday.  I want to get stocked up on the SoBe Lifewater for the summer!  My Mom & I had another great shopping trip there last night.  No picture, sorry, I didn't want to carry all the water in the house.  Here is what I got:

Degree "girl" deodorant $1.97
used $1 Target coupon (mailer)
used $1.25 Degree IP
2 Reach floss $.97 each
used (2) $1 Reach coupons
3 Reynolds aluminum foil $2.54 each (clearanced)
used (2) $1.25 Reynolds IP
2 Target solar lights $3 each
used (2) $2 Target coupons
Monopoly card game $5.24
used $5 Monopoly coupon
Battleship game $9
used $4 Battleship coupon
used $3 Target Hasbro coupon
Connect Four game $7
used $4 Connect Four coupon
used $3 Target Hasbro coupon
10 SoBe Lifewater drinks $1 each, receive $5 g.c. wyb 10
used (10) $.50 Target SoBe coupons
used $5 Target gift card
=$11.11 OOP, received $5 Target gift card

Now that I typed out my transaction I see that I bought 3 Reynold's foils but I only had coupons for two of them.  I think when I go there tonight I will return one of them to get $2.54 back.  I have more coupons for the games so I'll be buying more of those - they'll make great b-day presents.  Also in the Monopoly card game that I bought there was a $5 coupon in there (look for specially marked boxes) so I'll be buying some more of those games tonight.

Lots of Shopping and Great CS

I ran to a couple stores last night while Mike stayed home with the kids.  I haven't been very motivated to shop in the mornings while Logan is at school (I would rather sleep - thank you very much!), so this afternoon I planned out my trips and hoped for the best.  Here are the breakdowns for each store:

Kmart
4 12 pks. Quilted Northern tp $7.49 each
used (2) $1 QN coupons
Dial liquid hand soap $2 (cheapest "filler" I could find)
used $10/$20 Kmart coupon
=$21.88 OOP, received $10 catalina for buying $30 worth of qualifying products

Huggies pull-ups $9.99
used $1.50 pull-ups coupon
Huggies diapers $9.99
used $3 Huggies coupon
J&J cotton swabs $1.69
used $1 J&J coupon
used $10 catalina from previous purchase
=$6.87 OOP, should have $3 reward on rewards card

I completely lucked out and was able to still use the $10/$20 Kmart coupon.  The supervisor explained that they weren't suppose to take them but then allowed my cashier to push it through :)  After I left I realized that there was no reason to buy the J&J swabs since I didn't have to have my total over the $20 total.  Oh well, they'll still get used.  I'll also submit for the GP $5 Rebate for buying $20 in participating brands (Quilted Northern toilet paper).

Onto the next store:  Menards
3 pkgs. Fischer peanuts $1.19 each
used (3) $1 Fischer coupons
=$.57 OOP

I had REALLY wanted to stock up on the Fischer product snacks that they carry but they raised their prices on all the items :(

Last stop for the night:  Target
Huggies diapers $8.99
used $1.50 Target coupon
used $3 Huggies coupon
4 pkgs. Reese's pieces $2.66 each
used (4) $1 Target coupons
used (4) $1 pieces coupons
1 pkg. York pieces $2.66 each
used $1 Target coupon
used $1 pieces coupon
5 J&J Buddies soap $.97 each
used (5) $1 J&J coupons
2 Gillette fusion razors $7 each $5 GC wyb 2
used (2) $4 coupons
2 Band-Aid products $1.82 each
2 Neosporin products $3.54 each
used (2) $3 coupons wyb both Band Aids and Neosporin
used (2) $1 Target band-aid coupons
2 Spiderman cups $1 each (for the boys)
=$23.72 OOP, received $5 gift card

I'll be using the band-aids to submit for a $5 rebate that we qualified for by purchasing the Princess and the Frog earlier this week.  I would have loved to have bought more razors but I only had 2 coupons :(  I'm very happy though that I now have a $5 Target gift card to roll.  I'll be buying some more packs of diapers this week using some more of the $3 mannies and the $1.50 Target coupons.  $4.49/pack of Huggies diapers is a reasonable price and I might as well start stockpiling - the twins will be here before we know it!!

Oh, and I got another compliment while shopping at Target.  The cashier (a young guy) was SO impressed with how much I saved!

Target Run 3/10

Last night I made a quick trip to Target.  I needed to pick up diapers and pull-ups and thanks to avonmommyof3 for letting me know about the Target sale I went there to get them.  I basically got everything pictured for less than I would have paid for just the diapers (without using any coupons of course).

Here is what I got:
6 J&J Buddies soaps $.97 each
used (6) $1 J&J coupons
4 Tide single-use $.97 each (will donate)
used (4) $1 Tide coupons
Oral-B toothbrush $1.99
used $1 Oral-B Target coupon
used $.50 Oral-B coupon
Transformers Band-Aids $1.82
Neopsorin foam $3.54
used $3 off wyb Band-Aid product & neosporin
used $1 Band-Aid Target coupon
Huggies diapers $8.99
used $2 Huggies coupon
used $1.50 Huggies Target coupon
Target brand pull-ups $8.54
=$17.44 OOP

I plan on hitting Target again tomorrow sometime.  I'll be getting some more diapers and probably pick up almost everything I got there last night except the Tide.  I think I'll get the travel size of Band-Aids which will bring my OOP down a little bit.

The college guy who rang me up last night actually complimented me on my shopping trip.  I think his exact words were, "You saved more than you spent.  That is awesome!"  I think I can count on one hand how many times I've heard anything remotely similar to that - which to me is so surprising.  I mean, if I were the cashier and someone came through my line and saved a ton of money I would want to find out how they did it.  Most cashiers act like they see it all the time (which I know they don't!).  I'm curious to know if any of you frequently get "complimented" on your shopping skills?

Nothing to See Here

I ran to Kmart really quick tonight - I had heard that John Frieda shampoo/conditioners were on sale for $3.  Apparently my Kmart did not get that memo though - it was on sale buy one get one 50% off.  So I left Kmart with nothing in hand.

To make up for the bad shopping trip I decided to stop at CVS on the way home to see what I could snag.  I had stopped there on Sunday and did the Kellogg's deal.  Tonight I picked up:
2 Oral-B toothbrushes $4 each, get $4
2 Clairol hair color $2.50 (clearanced)
used $5/2 Clairol coupon
used $7.99 ECBs
=$.79 OOP, received $8 ECBs

I'll keep the hair color for an upcoming garage sale.  They usually sell really well.

Why is it when I really need to get something at a great place there are no sales??  I really, really need diapers/pull-ups, but I haven't seen a great price lately.  Have you?

Target March 4th

There are some great deals at Target lately.  Tonight I picked up a few of them.  Here is what I got:
7 J&J Buddies soaps $.97 each
used (7) $1 J&J coupons
5 Fruit Chillers $2.01 each
Clorox toilet wand $9.69
will submit for $5 MIR
2 Gillette body wash $1.79 each
used $4/2 Gillette coupon
Flintstones vitamins $5.04
Where the Wild Things Are DVD $19.99 (not pictured)
used $5 Target gift card
=$34.30 OOP

If I had not bought the DVD or vitamins my total would have been under $10 BUT I needed the vitamins (cannot stand the prenatal ones!!) and Mike & the boys wanted the DVD.

Thanks goes to Hip2Save! and Common Sense with Money  for some of the posted deals!

What I've Been Up To

I suppose I have some explaining to do huh?  I've been absent from my blog for almost a month and I am SO sorry about that but I do have some good reasons!!  I have not been feeling well at all.  I started getting sick around the middle of January.  Every morning I was completely nauseous and I couldn't explain why (anyone know where this is going??).  Towards the end of the month I took a pregnancy test (more like three!) and they all came back positive.  To say this was a shock is an understatement :)  So I made a doctor's appointment for Feb. 26th for my first check-up.

Fast forward to the middle of February.  Mike & I went to Dallas for a week.  He went down there for training and I just tagged along.  The boys stayed with Mike's Aunt.  It was a nice and relaxing time and a much needed break.

So last Friday I had my OB appointment and since I didn't have an exact date of my last cycle my doctor suggested an ultrasound so we could get a good estimation on the due date.  I agreed since I am a planner and because I LOVE getting to see the actual baby :)  We go into the ultrasound and the tech puts the gel on and puts the wand on my tummy and instantly finds the baby.  She then moves it a little and there is the baby again - only this time baby is facing the other direction.  The tech then asks if twins run in the family and I mention that yes, my Grandpa is a twin.  Mike & I begin to mildly freak out!!  Holy cow - one baby was surprise enough but now TWO?!?!?  Whoa!!

I am due towards the end of September and I think it's finally sinking in.  I am carrying twins - Wow!!  Next fall I will have a 5 year old, a 2 year old and newborn twins.  And because they changed the law here in ND, Logan will not be starting school.  So I will have four kids at home.

A lot to process huh?  Tell me about it :)

Diapers.com Deal for First-Time Shoppers

There is a great deal going on at diapers.com right now if you like Luvs diapers.  They aren't my brand of choice but they work fine for my son during the day.  If I were a first-time customer I would be doing this great deal!  You can get the diapers for just $3.70/pack!!  Here's how:

1.  Sign up at Ebates.com

2.  Once you have signed up through them click on the "baby & kids" link.  Diapers.com should appear on the drop-down list.  Click on the link and it will connect you to the Diapers.com website.  By doing the deal through ebates.com you will earn an additional 1-4% back on your purchase.
3.  Add 7 packs of Luvs diapers ($6.99/pack) to your cart.  You'll need to add another item to your cart to get it over $50 - you should be able to find an item for around $1.99.

4.  Add code DIAPERS105 at checkout to take $10 off your order.

5.  Submit for THIS $14.97 rebate.

The final cost for seven packs of diapers + one item at $1.99 should equal out to $3.70 per pack of diapers!!  What a great deal on something us Moms need who have little ones!!

BTW, the reason I'm not doing this deal is because I did a deal similar to this one for Huggies with Diapers.com so since I'm not a new customer I can't take advantage of this awesome price :(

Thanks goes to Thrifty Mama for posting this deal and my Aunt Raylene for telling me about it!

Great Deal at Cash Wise

There is a great deal this week on select Quaker items at Cash Wise.  I ran there this morning and I will probably do this deal a couple more times.  By combining the in-ad coupon and some IP ones you can get the items for less than $1/box!  That's a great stock up price for me on cereal that I will actually eat!!

There a several ways to do this sale.  This morning I bought the items pictured.  I had two coupons for the Quaker oatmeal.  You can find that coupon HERE.  Since I had two of the coupons that brought the above items to just $.78 each!!  That is a great price on cereal!!  If you needed some granola bars you could use the $1/2 granola bar coupon that was in a recent newspaper insert.  If you combined one of those with three of the oatmeal coupons it would cost you just $.38 per item!

Another Fab Trip

Have I mentioned there is sickness in my house right now?  Last night Logan (my 4 yr old) was up off and on from 3 AM until I was able to take him into the clinic at 10 AM.  He now has ear infections to go along with everything else.  Hubby also stayed home today since he has decided to become sick too.  I hope I don't get it - I need to remember to pop some Zicam tonight.  This afternoon while everyone was napping I made a trip to Target (to pick up a vaporizer) and stopped in at CVS to pick up some necessities.  Sorry, no picture this time around - I didn't have the energy.  You'll just have to visualize in your pretty little head what I bought :)

Trans #1:
Accu check monitor $14.99, get $10
used $10 Accu check coupon
2 Oust air fresheners $3.99 each, get $3 each
used BOGO Oust coupon
used $5/$20 CVS
used $3 ECBs
=$1.29 OOP, received $16 ECBs!!!
That's an $11.71 Moneymaker :)

Trans #2:
Cottonelle $12.88, get $4
used $1 Cottonelle coupon
2 Oust air fresheners $3.99 each, get $3 each
used BOGO Oust coupon
CVS Vapor bath $4.69
CVS Electrolyte drink $2.24 (BOGO 50% off)
used $5/$30 CVS Medicare quiz coupon
used $2 off $10 CVS products coupon
used $11 ECBs
=$6.83 OOP, received $10 ECBs

I needed almost everything I bought in transaction two (except the Oust) but by doing the first transaction I was able to really build up my ECBs and use some of them towards the second purchase.

On another subject I ordered coupons off of eBay for the first time.  I've never bought coupons before over the internet and hopefully it works out because they really were a great deal!  I bought 25 Oust coupons for $3.19 (free shipping) and 20 $1 J&J baby coupons for $2.99.  I won't be able to use all the Oust coupons myself but I'll be sharing them with my Mom, Aunt and maybe have a giveaway for some!

Have you bought coupons from other sources?  Let me know of your experience!
