UGH - Target - UGH

I swear I have the absolute worst luck at Target (well, except my poor hubby).  I ran there last night just to get out of the house for a bit.  I wasn't quite sure what I was going to pick up (I ended up going back today - more on that in a bit) so I kind of just wandered around and scoped out some deals. 

All of the above only cost me $6.99.  Here is the breakdown:

2 lbs. sliced American cheese $2.29 each

used $1.50 Target coupon

used $1.50 IP coupon from coupons.com (visit the link at the bottom of this post)

3 Up & Up wipes $1.47 each

used (3) $1 Target coupons

2 Yoplus Yoplait yogurts $2.09 each

used (2) $1 Yoplait coupons

5 Glade products $2.50 each, $5 Target G.C. wyb 5 products

used $1.50 Glade coupon

used (2) BOGO Glade coupons (available at Right@Home.com)

Get Well card for my Mom $.50

=$6.99 OOP, received $5 Target G.C.

So where were the problems??  Well the first one was that they had a sign by the Yoplus that the product was being substituted for the Activia that they were out of so the price should have been $1.91.  Of course I didn't realize this until later.  The second thing was the BOGO coupons.  When the cashier scanned them I noticed it didn't take a $ amount off (or ask her to type the $ amount in).  At the end of the transaction I asked her if those coupons had been subtracted.  She said yes they were.  Hmmm, big surprise but when the receipt printed out the additional $5 had not been taken off.  She could not figure out how to fix the problem so I ended up going over to Customer Service where they gave me $5 cash.  I guess that works too.  This is the 3rd time that those coupons did not scan properly - of course the first two times I didn't notice until I got home. 

The other problem I constantly have at Target is the fact that they always forget to credit me for the reusable shopping bags.  Last night I remembered to ask her and she did give me the nickel credit.  I know this is common sense for most of you (but sometimes we can get distracted) but remember to watch and make sure the items are ringing up correctly and the correct amounts are being taken off for the coupons.  I'm so glad I realized the $5 had not been deducted right away.  How has your experience been at Target lately?

Today we ran there to do the Up!/Monsters Inc. deal.  And (big surprise) that didn't go smoothly either!  They were out of Monsters Inc. and because of that they will not price match (Best Buy has it for $18.99) on the raincheck.  So we didn't get it.  I did manage to find the Santa Spud (Mr. Potato Head) for $5.99 and used the $5 coupon from coupons.com so at the least the trip wasn't a total bust.

Swagbucks

I LOVE Swagbucks!!  I'm sure most of you have heard of the popular search engine.  If you haven't it is a great search engine.  It works just as well as google but there is one HUGE bonus!  Each time you search there is a chance that you can win Swagbucks.  You can then "cash in" your swagbucks to get some great items such as DVD's, gift cards and cold hard cash!  I use the swagbucks toolbar on a daily basis and I usually win 1-5 swagbucks everyday.  It doesn't take very long for them to add up - just click on the link and search for yourself :)

Shopping Trips for Nov. 4

We spent some time this afternoon raking up the mound of leaves that have accumulated in our yard.  Noah (on the right) and I did make a CVS run this morning.  The trip didn't go as well as I had hoped but I guess that's what happens when I fail to read the ad correctly. 

I got everything pictured for $2.23 OOP - not too shabby but I did "lose" over $10 in ECBs.

Later in the evening I managed to make a run to Target.  This trip went much, much better!

October Month in Review

Here are the totals for the month of October:

I had both a good and a bad month this time around.  The good:  I now have $92.98 in ECBs!!  That is the most I've ever had - yay!  The bad:  my savings were only at 84%.  Which still is not horrible considering that during the month I purchased diapers and two movies which did produce any ECBs.  I cannot wait to see what the Black Friday sales will be like at CVS!

CVS 10/28 and Some Exciting News!!

Today's trip was pretty boring.  I had some ECBs expiring so I just got a couple of items - luckily the deals that I got helped me build my ECBs by $5!!  Here are today's purchases:

3 Sudafed nasal spray $7, get $10

Gillette fusion razor $8.99, get $5

used $4 Gillette coupon

used $10 ECBs

=$5.79 OOP, received $15 ECBs

I cannot stand using the nasal spray so these items will be donated to the local Ronald McDonald house.  I plan on dropping off my donations next week.  Check back for my monthly Charity Challenge!

I made a quick run to CVS.  I wanted to get the Gillette razor before they were out of them.  I managed to find that along with the infamous "bag tag"!  I was super excited when I spotted this near the register - now I'll earn $1 ECB every four times that it's scanned!!  Here are my purchases:

Target Trip 10/26

I am going to be set for candles for quite awhile!  I am absolutely loving the Glade deal at Target right now.  So far I have done the deal 4 times and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon :)  I only hope that they get other scents in since I've only been able to buy the apple cinnamon and the bayberry spice.  I really can't complain though since I've only paid $5 for over $20 worth of candles.  These sell really well at garage sales and will make great additions to some Christmas presents this year.

Have you got enough Chex Mix yet??  I think I have close to 25 bags of it!  Thank goodness they don't expire until May of next year :)  There are a TON of places on the web to print out the coupons from - Check out Beth's Post to find all the links to them.  I paid only a quarter per bag - what a great deal!!

The Children's Place
