December Charity Challenge

I cannot believe that Christmas is in just a couple of days!  Are you ready for it??  I have a couple of gifts left to get BUT I know what I'm getting so it's just a matter of making it to the stores.  Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to.  I'm posting the Challenge late again this month.  I did drop the donations off almost two weeks ago, I've just been neglecting the blog so this is the first chance I've had to write up the post.

This month I donated to a different organization.  We had Noah baptized earlier this month and in the church's program it mentioned "Gifts of Love".  Every year our church puts together baskets for families in the area that might not be able to afford food/necessities.  I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to donate to my hometown.  I gathered the items (I think I had 5 or 6 bags all together) and sent them with my MIL.  Here are the items that I was able to donate:

Pictured above are:
-6 pkgs. pull-up wipes
-10 deodorants
-11 tubes of toothpaste
-5 shampoo/conditioners
-4 body wash/bars of soap
-3 lotions
-3 razors
-4 shaving creams
-2 facial wipes
-7 feminine products
-4 air fresheners
-1 tylenol
-2 bodi heat pads
-1 ear rinse

That is a total of 53 items.  The approximate retail value of everthing pictured is over $250!!  It still just blows my mind that by combining sales with coupons I'm able to accumulate this much to donate - and that is in addition to stocking my house with essentials :)  And for anyone wondering/questioning I DO NOT clear the shelves when I shop - some items pictured I bought from rainchecks that I had to get because the stores were out of the items at the time.

Now it's your turn!  How did you do this month?  Were you able to donate?  Please leave your link below.  Don't have a blog?  That's OK too - just leave a comment!

August Charity Challenge

I donated more than I usually do this month since I had not donated in July. July just went by so fast and we were busy with swimming and tennis. Last Friday, Logan and I dropped off six bags of items to the Ronald McDonald house. Here are the pictures of all the items:-7 shampoos
-6 conditioners
-2 glucose monitors
-13 deordorants
-2 boxes of band-aids
-2 bottles of Vitamin D
-3 tubes of toothpaste
-4 bars of soap
-5 razors
-4 cans of shaving cream
-1 body wash
-2 bottles of mouthwash
-19 small pkgs. of feminine pads

= 70 items (over $220 worth of merchandise)!!

I love being able to get so many items for free! Logan really enjoys taking all the stuff to the charities. If I had not learned how to shop at CVS there is no way this would be possible!! How did you do this month? Were you able to donate some of your stockpile items? Please share below if you did :)

Charity Challenge

July was crazy for some reason and went by way too fast! I did not have a chance to drop off any donations during the month so I'm hoping to double my drop-off amount to the Ronald McDonald house here in town. I will have the charity challenge next week and I hope that you can participate! View my past charity challenges HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE.

Charity Challenge

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

I want to say thank you for joining me in what I hope is the first of many Charity Challenges. I don't have all the "rules" thought up for this challenge so the first couple will be learning experience for all of us :) The only "rule" I have is that you help promote the challenge by linking back here to my blog - that's it! Here is what I will be dropping off this week:

-2 bottles Gillette shampoo
-2 Children's throat coolers
-2 Bayer contour meters
-3 bottles Vaseline lotion
-10 tubes of Colgate toothpaste
-2 tubes of Crest toothpaste
-2 bags of cotton balls
-1 bottle of mouth rinse
-1 bottle of Pedialyte
-1 bottle of earinse
=26 items total

I didn't clean out my entire stockpile but I did make some extra room! I plan on dropping off the items on Wednesday this week. I'm not sure if I'll take them to the same shelter I've been dropping stuff off at or if I will go to a new one.

OK - now it's your turn! Show me how generous you've been :) Leave your link back to your specific Charity Challenge post. Thanks for participating!!
