Crystal Light @ Walmart

I'm sure most of you know this by now but maybe some don't :) Walmart has the Crystal Light t0-go packs (10/box) on sale for just $1.97. I bought 14 boxes the other day and paid a little over $10! I used 4 $1/1 and 3 $2/2 coupons and 4 of the Free Skin Essentials CL wyb any CL product.

These will be used up in no time around here! I took some to work and Mike will be taking some to his job. They'll also come in handy to take to the lake and will be a better alternative than pop.

-Ziploc coupons
-Betty Crocker coupons
and many, many more!!

Want a chance to win these great coupons? It's easy to do and you can enter up to TWO times. One way is to leave a comment on this post. CVS 5/24 *Update*

I was SO excited with the CVS ad this week. They finally had more than one or two items that were better than free after ECBs and coupons!! I checked out both of the stores in town though and was disappointed that I could not find the Neutrogena money-maker :( Here is all the stuff I got:
Coppertone Kids sunscreen $7.99, get $2
-used $1.50 Coppertone coupon
Revlon nail polish $3.99, get $3
-used $1 Revlon coupon
Gain laundry detergent $5.99, get $2
-used $1 Gain coupon
Colgate toothpaste $2.99, get $2
-used $1 Colgate coupon
Playtex Sport $3.99, get $3
-used $1 Playtex Sport coupon
Clearasil face wash $3.99, get $3.99
-used $2 Clearasil coupon
2 Speed stick deodorant $3.99, get $3.99
-used $5/$30 CVS coupon
-used $24.42 ECBs (had a $4 one that was adjusted down - I should have bought a filler item)
=$.45 OOP, received $23.97 ECBs

I did a similar transaction on Mike's card but was able to build up the ECBs for it. I had started out with $15 and now have $18.97 for that card :)

How did you do at CVS? Were you able to find the Neutrogena sunscreen for $1.99?

I forgot to mention - I had to run to CVS today to pick up a prescription for Noah. I found some Sunsilk shampoo on clearance for only $1.07 - I used the $1 off Sunsilk coupon which made the shampoo only 7 cents!!

CVS Trip 5/18

There aren't that many great deals at CVS this week which is unfortunate. I have $20 in ECBs that expire today that I need to use. I might just buy something and return it at a later date so that I don't lose the ECBs. We'll see. This is what I picked up on Tuesday:

2 Orville Redenbacher popcorn 2/$5
4 cans Chef Boyardee 4/$5
-used $1 off 2 boxes of popcorn coupon
-used $1/4 Chef Boyardee cans coupon
-used $7 ECBs
=$1 OOP, received $5 ECBs

2 Dry Ideas 2/$5
2 Right Guard $1.12 each
Dial bar soap $1.99
-used (2) $2 off Dry Idea coupons
-used (2) $1 off Right Guard coupons
-used $.35 off Dial soap coupon

Target Experience

(This happened last Friday):

I had a horrible experience at Target this morning!

I went there this morning with the sole intent of just purchasing items using Target coupons and matching them up with mannies. My list included mayo, Dove go Fresh, Pringles, Quaker snacks, yogurt, apples and Bliss candy bars. I went to one of the friendly cashiers (one who has rung me up countless times - but I had never done the Bliss candy with her). When she got to the Bliss it said "item isn't here for coupon" or whatever message pops up. She looks at the coupon and says, "I can't take this coupon, it's for the bags not the bars". I then tell her that it doesn't show a size which she agrees but she still wants to check with a supervisor. She takes it over to a supervisor who says they won't take it for the item. I then tell the supervisor that I have a letter (the one Ginger had on Attention Target Shoppers) saying that the coupons should be adjusted down. She takes the letter and reads it but then decides she needs to call the manager.

Scott then comes up, takes once glance at the coupon and says, "I'm not taking this coupon." I tell him about the letter and he says he's not going to read the letter. I then ask him to call corporate to see what their policy is since he tells me they cannot adjust down coupons (which is a bold-faced lie since cashiers have done it before). He says he's not wasting his time by calling corp. He says because the bag is pictured that's the only item the coupon is for. I tell him that is untrue, if it were it would specify the size on the coupon. I show him the Quaker snacks coupon and explain that I have used that coupon on countless Quaker products, not just on the Simple Harvest, which is pictured. He doesn't really have a response to that. Meanwhile, every time I try to explain it to him he keeps interrupting. I ask him to please stop so I can talk. He doesn't. So then I begin to interrupt him. (I figure if he's not going to respect me, I'm not going to respect him.) He tells me if I continue to act like this he'll cancel my transaction right now and make me leave his store. I reply, "You're going to make me leave?" and he says yes, he will. I then ask incredulously, "Over 8 cents? You're going to make me leave over 8 cents?"He replies,"Yes, I'll make you leave and I'll make sure you aren't allowed back!" I could not believe what I was hearing. He was SO rude and completely disrespectful. To make a long story a little bit shorter, in the end he said he would call corporate sometime today to see what the policy was. I told him if he would have suggested that in the first place (which I DID suggest since I told him there was a phone number on that letter) this could have been avoided. After he left I apologized to the cashier because I felt horrible for her having to go through that. I was very proud of myself because not once did I raise my voice (which is hard for me to do!). Also as I was leaving the store TWO cashiers told me that they hope my day gets better - which to me makes it seem as though they believe he was in the wrong. Otherwise why would they say it that way? This whole thing could have been avoided if he had just read the letter, said he would call corp. and then either say he couldn't take the coupons at that time OR he should have said he would make an exception.

I called Guest Relations after this whole incident - and they AGREED with me. The man that I spoke to said Target researches the coupons they put out. They KNEW the Bliss coupon would be able to be used to get free candy bars. He was very apologetic and said he would be contacting the store and let them know that they are supposed to take that coupon and adjust it down to the $.99.

Friday night Mike & I ran to Target and picked up eight of the candy bars and the cashier adjusted down the coupons. Hmmm, I wonder if I'll see Scott at the store this week?

Garage Sale Results

I think the garage sale did really well. I was open about 8 hours and made a little over $450 - can't complain about that!! We sold a lot of our bigger items which is great!! The stockpile stuff sold pretty well too. I tried to keep track of what I made by selling those items and it looks like I made about $160. Some items definitely sold better than others. We're planning on having another garage sale towards the end of the summer and I plan on stocking up on certain things.

Such as:
-toothpaste
-shampoo/conditioner
-body wash
-hairspray

I didn't sell any glucose meters or hand soap. I had stocked up on the softsoap refill bottles but I didn't sell a single one.

Here are the prices for some of the items:
-any travel/trial size items I had priced for $.25
-toothpaste - $1 or $1.25
-most shampoo/conditioners were marked at $2
-body wash - $2
-most hairspray was priced at $1.50
-softsoap refills $1.25
-glucose meters $5
-hair color $1.50

I also had a lady ask me if I would be willing to teach a class for her and her friends showing them how to save money while shopping. I gave her one of my cards and hopefully she'll email me about that!

Did You Receive This In The Mail?

Yesterday was a great mail day. I received some coupons, my Kraft magazine, my free Everyday Food magazine and a free Shick razor. The coupons I received will pair up really well with one of the upcoming ECBs at CVS (spend $10 get $5 ECBs wyb Poppycock, Orville Redenbacher, Act II, David, Hunt's or Chef Boyardee products). The coupons include:

-Free 24 oz. Bottle of Hunt's ketchup
-$1 off one chicken nugget Banquet meal
-$1 off 3 Snack Packs
-$1 off Reddi Whip
-$1 off Peter Pan peanut butter
-$1 off Healthy Choice fresh mixers
-$1 off 4 cans of Chef Boyardee
-$1 off one 3 pack of Manwich
-$1 off 2 tubs of boxes of Orville Redenbacher
-$1 off 2 bags of David's sunflower seeds

I will most likely buy 4 cans of Chef Boyardee and 2 boxes of Redenbacher popcorn. I'll use the two $1 coupons so it will cost me $8 OOP and I'll receive $5 ECBs. Not a bad price on items that I am running low on.

Did you get this too?

Two CVS Trips This Week

I think it's almost a record - I only went to CVS twice this week. I was too busy getting ready for the garage sale. I just LOVE when they pay you to take their products. I was able to pick up 4 monitors this week so that gave me $20 in extra cash to spend there. It was perfect timing too since Noah was running low on formula.2 Similac $22.99 each
4 glucose monitors $14.99 each, get $5 back for each
4 Schick razors $8.99 each, get $4 back for each
4 St. Ives face scrub $1.49 each
3 Ragu $5
3 Skippy $5, get $3 wyb $10
1 Blade deodorant $1.12
-use (2) $2 Similac coupons
-use (2) $5 Similac checks
-use (4) $14.99 glucose monitor coupons
-use (4) $4 Schick coupons

-use (2) $.30 Ragu coupons
-use $1 Blade coupon
-use $20 ECBs
=$1.03 OOP, received $39 ECBs

These were done as at least two separate transactions. I'm pretty sure I used some of these ECBs to do some of this deal. I still got a lot of stuff though for a great price!

Garage Sale Questions

I am getting ready to have a garage sale this Friday and Saturday so posting will be sporadic. I do have some questions for you though. I have never tried to sell stockpile products at a garage sale before. Any advice? Any idea on what would be a good price? Has anyone had success selling these at a garage sale? Thanks in advance!!

Odds & Ends

I'll be out of town until Monday so I thought I would just do a quick post about some great deals I've found this week.

-if you haven't bought the Coke that is on sale at CVS, use this coupon to make them just $1/12 pk. after coupons and ECBs. The print is unlimited and the coupons are good until August so I would suggest printing a lot!!

-I got some great deals at Target this past week. They have the Banana Boat trial sized sunscreens for $.99 - use the $1 coupon that was in last weeks paper and you can get free sunscreen!

-Use this coupon to score some free Purell while you're there too. You can pick up the trial sized ones for less than $1.

-Walmart this week has the Snuggle creme fabric softener for $4 if you printed out this coupon (not sure if it is still available) you can get it for $2

-Walmart also has the small boxes of Bounce fabric sheets for $2.22 - use the $1 coupon from the P&G saver booklet to get some inexpensive fabric sheets.

-Walmart also has the California Pizza Kitchen pizzas on sale for $5.98. If you printed out the $2 coupons from coupons.com (no longer available) you can get these pizzas for less than $4. I picked up two yesterday.

-The Dry Idea coupon has been reset. Target still has this on sale for $2 - so when you use the coupon they will be free!

Have you found any other great deals? If so, let me know! Have a great weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day!!

CVS 5/2

Last night my Mom & I ran up to CVS. There were a couple of things from last week's ad and the new ad that started last night that I was hoping to snag. And since I had so many ECBs I figured I could spend some on stuff that we needed even if I didn't earn any new ECBs. Here is what I got:
2 Digiorno pizzas $5 each
2 Starbucks frappaccinos $1.50 each
1 Axe bullet spray 4 pk. $1.50
4 Aveeno shampoo/conditioners $6.45 each
1 Colgate max $2.99
1 Blade body spray $1.17
6 boxes of Kleenex BOGO free $2.39 each
1 Colgate max $2.50
2 Emblem nuts $.99 each

-used (2) $1 off Frap coupons
-used $10/3 Aveeno products coupon
-used (2) $1 off Colgate coupons

-used $2/2 Emblem nut CRT coupon
-used $3/$10 hair product CRT coupon
-used $20.89 ECBs
=$12.57 OOP, received $13 ECBs

For some reason one of the Colgates that I bought did not produce the ECBs so I'll be returning that one and getting the correct kind. The Starbucks coffee is a hidden deal. I'm not sure if it ended yesterday or if it will work this week too - I hope it will since I have 2 more of the $1 off coupons. I wanted to do the Coke deal too but they were out of Cherry Coke so hopefully I'll be able to do that deal sometime this week.

The May Charity Challenge will take place the week of May 4-8! I hope you'll participate!
