Quick Trip to CVS

I stopped by CVS this morning. I wanted to pick up the razor and shampoo and to return the Visine I had bought the other day. I decided I'm going to buy band-aids instead to get the $10 ECBs for that deal. Here is what I got:
bought 1 Schick razor $8.99, get $4
bought 1 Garnier shampoo $2.99, get $2
bought 1 Easter candy (to pacify Logan), clearanced to $.09
-used $4 off Schick coupon
-used $1 off Garnier coupon
= $7.79 OOP, received $6 ECBs

I completely forgot that I was going to use some of my ECBs for this purchase. I get way too distracted when Logan comes with. Oh well - I did get some great coupons from the magic machine ($4/$20 beauty purchase, $3/$10 hair product purchase, $2/2 Emblem nuts and $2/$10 CVS purchase) I think I might be able to use the hair product coupon if I decide to buy the Aveeno shampoo.

I had participated in a consignment sale this past weekend. I had to pick up the clothes that didn't sell today. By looking at the tags from the items that did sell it looks like I made around $45 - not too bad. I'm still debating if I'm going to have a garage sale in a couple of weeks. I really want to have two this summer. There is just so much prep work that needs to be done! I have to think of just how much crap I can get rid of to keep me motivated!!

More Kmart Doubles

Last night Logan & Mike went to the Monster trucks that were here in town. While they were there Noah & I ran to Kmart. Trish had told me that I would be able to use the $1 Huggies coupon to buy the small packages of Huggies wipes and my Aunt (Hi Raylene!!) had told me about some toilet paper that would be really cheap. bought purell hand sanitizer $1.49
used $.55 purell coupon

I got some really great deals! My total before all the coupons was over $100 :) After Kmart I went to Target to pick up some more fruit snacks, Planters nuts, and hopefully some more light bulbs. I went back to the food section and grabbed the fruit snacks (4 boxes), I then went to dig my coupons out and they weren't in my reusable shopping bag! I began to panic. I looked in my purse and it wasn't there either. I then remembered that it had been in my shopping cart in the front part (where a child would sit) at Kmart. I had forgotten to grab it out of there when I lifted Noah/carseat out. I immediately called Mike and asked him to call Kmart. He called them and there were able to find it (out in the parking lot in a cart corral!) and it would be waiting for me at the customer service desk. I finished shopping at Target and raced back up to Kmart (about 15 min. away). It was at the customer service desk :) Thank goodness!! That particular coupon book had ALL of my Target coupons AND all of my ECBs. Could you imagine if I had lost that??

It Worked! It Worked!!

I am SO happy right now! My transactions worked as planned. NO, they were better!! When we got there Mike scanned the cards at the magic machine. I got some good coupons including $5/$30 purchase. After looking over all the stuff that I was buying (and thanks to Mike for finding some great Easter stuff!) I realized that I would be over $80 which meant that I would be able to use two $5/$25 coupons and one $5/$30. Here is how I broke up my transactions:

bought four 24 hr. Tresemme products 3/$10
bought two other Tresemme products
bought 1 Dove skin revitalizer $4
bought 1 pkg. Easter egg/candy $1.49
-used (4) $1 off Tresemme coupons
-used (1) $3.50 off Dove coupon
-used $5/$25 CVS coupon
-used $10 ECBs
=$3.56 OOP, received $10 ECBs

bought 2 Aveeno sunscreens $9 each
bought 2 Aveeno facial bars $2.99 each, get $10 ECBs wyb $25
bought 1 Crest toothbrush $2.88, get $2
bought 1 Aquafresh toothpaste $2.29
bought 1 Lumene Vitamin-C cream $2.99
-used $10/3 Aveeno coupon
-used (1) $.75 off Crest coupon
-used (1) $2 off Aquafresh CRT
-used (1) $5 off Lumene CRT
-used $5/$30 CVS coupon
-used $7.98 ECBs
=$2.14 OOP, received $12 ECBs

bought 2 Transformers egg dying kits $.99 each
bought 1 pkg. Easter egg/candy $1.49
bought 4 Dove skin revitalizers $4 each
bought 1 Crest toothpaste $2.88, get $2
bought 1 Skin Effects facial scrub $6.99
-used (3) $3.50 off Dove coupons
-used (1) $3.75 off Dove coupon
-used (1) $.75 off Crest coupon
-used (1) $5 off Skin Effects coupon
-used $5/$25 CVS coupon
-used $4 ECBs
=$1.26 OOP, received $2 ECBs

After looking over the receipt from transaction #2 I realized that the cashier took off the $5 for the Lumene (the coupon was up to $5 value) which is why my OOP was so low. I got a lot of great products and I'm hoping to go to the other store tomorrow and pick up some more Tresemme :)

My Plan CVS 4/20

Mike & I are doing a mystery shop tonight and after eating I hope to convince him to go to the north CVS with me to pick up a couple of things and to scan my cards at the magic machine :) Here are my scenarios:
buy 6 24 hr. Tresemme products $20, get $10
buy 2 Crest toothpastes $2.88 each, get $4
-use (6) $1 Tresemme coupons
-use (2) $.75 Crest coupons
-use $5/$25 CVS coupon
-use $10 ECBs
=$3.26 + tax, receive $14 ECBs

buy 3 Aveeno products $27, get $10
buy Dove revitalizer $4
-use $10/3 Aveeno coupon
-use (1) $3.50 Dove coupon
-use $5/$25 CVS coupon
-use $14 ECBs
= not sure about price

So the second transaction I don't have a definite price. I'm not sure what Aveeno products I will find and I'm not sure if the Dove product is going to be clearanced. I'll post my results later. Wish me luck!!

Some Great Deals To Get By Saturday!

Here are some great deals I've noticed around town:

CVS has both Purex laundry detergent and SoBe Lifewater BOGO free. Combine with THIS coupon (use zipcode 43085) and THIS coupon to score all items for free! Don't forget that you can print each coupon twice!!

You can also get some Aveeno products really cheap at CVS. The deal is posted in next week's ad but it has already started working. I did this deal earlier this week:
buy 3 Aveeno positively ageless cleansing pads ($8.99)
-use THIS $10 Aveeno coupon
-use the $4/$20 Beauty CVS coupon
=$12.97 + tax OOP, receive $10 ECBs
You'll get 3 Aveeno products for just over $1 each!!

Target currently has yummy Fruit Chillers on sale for $2 each. Use THIS (must register) coupon to get them for just $1! Target also has select Nabisco products for $2. If you have the Nabisco coupon ($1/2) from the newspaper insert, combine it with the Target printable coupon and you can get two boxes for $1!!

Have you found any other great deals? Let me know!!

Kmart will be doubling coupons again April 19-25! Start going through your coupons and grab those high dollar ones. I contacted Kmart customer service to see which stores in ND will be participating. They include:
Bismarck
Devils Lake
Dickinson
Fargo
Grand Forks
Jamestown
Minot

I'm pretty sure those are all the Kmarts in the state - which is great. They will be doubling manufacturer coupons up to $2 in value! Yay!!

Tonight my Mom & I ran to Target and CVS. She had a $15/$75 CVS coupon to use and I wanted to pick up some free Dry Idea from Target. We both got what we wanted :)

Second Time's A Charm!

My transaction this evening went much better than the one earlier today. But of course my purchases have to have some sort of excitement right? Right! I got to the check-out area and realized I didn't have my card so I gave the cashier my phone number. When he began to scan my ECBs and $15/$75 coupon they rang up saying that the coupons were not for that phone number. I have no idea what happened but I have a feeling it has something to do with the fact that I had ordered my original CVS online and then got impatient and got one at the store. I'm going to have to call customer service to get everything straightened out. Here is what I got:

2 Sure deodorant $2.50 each, get $2
2 Pantene shampoos $3.50 each, get $2
2 Pantene conditioners $3.50 each, get $2
3 Pantene styling products $3.50 each, get $2
2 stacking bins, clearanced to $.49 each
2 Airwick mini fresh matics $4.99 each
2 Colgate toothpastes $3.99 each, get $3.99 each
1 Softsoap body wash $4.99, get $4.99
1 Schick Quattro razor $8.99, get $4
1 Accu-chek monitor $9.99, get $9.99
1 Adidas deodorant, clearance to $2.50, get $2
-use (2) $1 off Sure coupons
-use (3) $3/2 Pantene coupons
-use (3) Free Pantene styler wyb shampoo & conditioner
-use (2) $4 off Airwick coupons
-use (2) $.75 off Colgate coupons
-use (1) $1.50 Softsoap coupon
-use (1) $4 off Schick coupon
-use (1) $1 Adidas coupon
-use $15/$75 CVS coupon
-use $9.47 ECBs
=$13.25 OOP, received $36.46 ECBs

Look at how much my ECBs increased!! After looking at my receipt I realized that I bought one extra Pantene product so I'll be returning that tomorrow.

Why Can't It Work Out??

My transaction for my card did not work :( For some reason the TV stands and printer carts were no longer clearanced today. Since they weren't marked down I was not able to get to the $75 amount. I ended up just using a $5/$25 coupon and I ended up wasting some coupons. Here is what I got:
2 Hershey's bliss chocolate, clearanced to $2.49 each
2 Colgate toothbrushes $3.99 each
1 Softsoap body wash $4.49
3 Adidas deodorant, clearanced to $2.50 each
6 SoBe drinks BOGO free
2 Glucerna cereals $4.59 each
-use (2) $1 off Hershey's bliss coupons
-use (2) $.75 off Colgate toothbrushes
-use (1) $1.50 off Softsoap body wash coupon
-use (3) $1 off Adidas coupons
-use (2) $5 off Glucerna coupons (adjusted to $4.59)
-use $5/$25 CVS coupon
-use $12.98 ECBs
=$1.37 OOP, received $18.47 ECBs

So I did end up building my ECBs by over $5 but looking back I did not have to buy the cereal so I wasted those $5 coupons. I was flustered once I realized the carts were no longer clearanced. I guess I won't be using the $15/$75 coupon for my card. I have not done the transaction for Mike's card yet. I'll do that either tomorrow night or on Wednesday. I did get pretty lucky though with the Adidas deodorant being clearanced to $2.50 and then using a $1 coupon and earning $2 ECBs :)

Do You Think I Can Do It??

Saturday morning after Logan's tennis lessons Mike asked if there was anywhere I wanted to stop since we were up north. I, of course, told him (half joking) that we could swing by CVS and I could scan my cards at the magic machines. Surprisingly, he agreed! I got a $15/$75 for both cards. I really didn't think I would be able to get my total up that high while keeping my OOP low. But I think I've worked up two scenarios that might work!

My card:
2 Colgate toothbrushes $3.99 each, get $3.99 each
3 Adidas deodorant $4.99 each, get $2 each
Softsoap body wash $4.99, get $4.99
6 SoBe drinks $1.79 each
3 printer/kitchen carts clearanced to $6.25 each
2 TV/entertainment stands clearanced to $8.75 each
2 Scrubbing bubbles $2.99 each (raincheck)
-use (2) $.75 off Colgate toothbrush coupons
-use (3) $1 off Adidas coupons
-use (1) $1.50 Softsoap body wash coupon
-use (6) BOGO free SoBe coupons
-use (2) $2.75 Scrubbing bubbles coupons
-use $15/$75 CVS coupon
-use $26.97 ECBs
=$16.70 + tax OOP, receive $18.97

I will be losing some ECBs from this transaction but I'm hoping to sell most of those TV stands and printer carts at my upcoming garage sales (I want to have 2 this summer). Keep your fingers crossed that they are still there and noone bought them!!

Mike's card:
2 Colgate toothpastes $3.99 each, get $3.99
2 Airwick mini starter kit $4.99 each
Softsoap body wash $4.99, get $4.99
Accu-chek monitor $9.99, get $9.99
Schick Quattro razor $8.99, get $4
2 Sure deodorant $2.50, get $2 wyb 2
9 Pantene shampoo, conditioner, styling products $3.50 each, get $2 wyb 2

-use (2) $.75 off Colgate toothpaste coupons

-use (2) $4 off Airwick mini starter coupons

-use (1) $1.50 off Softsoap coupon

-use (1) $4 off Schick razor coupons

-use (2) $1 off Sure coupons

-use (3) Free Pantene styling products wyb a shampoo and conditioner

-use $15/$75 CVS coupon

-use $11.47 ECBs

=$24.46 + tax OOP, receive $34.96 ECBs

So what do you think? Do you think I'll be able to pull this off? I guess I'll let you know!

April 9, 2009

A Great Target Deal!

Did you happen to keep your $5 gift card from Target last week that you got for buying 5/12 pks. of Pepsi? If you've still got it they have a great deal for razors this week:
buy 1 Gillette Fusion razor $7.99
buy 1 Gillette shaving cream $1.89
-use (1) $2 Gillette Fusion coupon
-use (1) $1 Gillette shaving cream coupon
-use $5 Target gift card
=$2.17 OOP, receive $5 Target gift card

I did this deal 3 times since I had 3 sets of the coupons. Mike should be set with razors for awhile!

April 8, 2009

The other day, while Mike & Logan were getting haircuts, Noah & I ran up to CVS. I had quite a few ECBs and figured I could spend some to get some stuff that we needed/wanted, even if I didn't earn ECBs for them :) Here is what I got: 6 cans of Pringles $.88 each
4 Vitamin waters $1 each
1 Diabetes monitor $9.99, get $9.99
1 pack of Easter eggs $.99
1 container onion powder $.88
2 bags of Easter grass $.79, get $2
1 white bag (not pictured) clearanced to $4.99
-use (3) $1/2 cans of Pringles coupons
-use (4) $1 off Vitamin water coupons
-use $5/$25 CVS coupon
-use $10 ECBs
=$8.09 OOP, received $11.99 ECBs

For some reason the ECBs for the Easter grass did not print out, which worked in my favor. Apparently the lowest ECB that the cashiers can manually print are ones for $1 each. So I guess I made $.42 buying Easter grass :)

As I was going through my coupons tonight I found some more for Pringles. I might have to go back and pick up some more :)

Have you checked out easybakeware yet? I just placed my third order with them (one/month) and will be receiving this for only $1. My past orders included collapsible measuring cups (no longer available) and one of the cookie sheet liners. I have only paid $1 for each of these items. There is no obligation from the company - you just need to remember to cancel your membership within 7 days by calling 888.205.2257. I usually call the very next day. This is a great deal and even if you don't need any of the items you can get for $1 they would make great gifts!

CVS & Target

I got some great deals at Target & CVS this morning. I was able to pick up some formula for Noah with very little cost out of pocket. Here is what I got:

CVS Trans #1:
1 Similac formula $21.99
1 Softsoap refill $3.99
-use (1) $5 Similac check
-use (1) $2 off Softsoap coupon
-use $5/$25 CVS coupon
-use $11.50 ECBs
=$2.48 OOP

CVS Trans #2:
1 Similac formula $21.99
2 Softsoap refills $3.99 each, $4 ECBs wyb 2
1 Veet $4 (clearanced)
1 CVS shopping bag (not pictured) $.99
-use (1) $5 Similac check
-use (2) $2 off Softsoap coupons
-use (1) $2 off Veet coupon
-use ( 1) raincheck for free CVS shopping bag
-use $5/$25 CVS coupon
=$18.39 OOP, received $4 ECBs

I messed up a couple of things on the last transaction. I forgot to give her my ECBs before I gave her the formula check so I could not use them. And I bought the Veet on the wrong card. I should have used my other card because I already did the Veet deal with my card. What I'm hoping will happen is that the clearance Veet will also work for the $5 ECBs wyb 2 Veet products which means I would pay $4 OOP and receive $5 ECBs.

Target purchase:
2 J&J bubble baths $2.44 each
1 Kandoo product $2.84

Diapers.com Follow-Up

Remember when I told you about THIS DEAL? I placed my order last Friday and my diapers were delivered on Tuesday. The deal really does work!! My credit card was charged a total of $19.95 and I'll be getting the rebate in awhile from the subscription to Parenting. And since I did my order through Ebates I'll be getting $.55 back from them too! (I had thought I would only get $.20 since that was my OOP but I guess they do the amount off the total before coupons - score!!) Some tips if you haven't done the deal yet:

-I waited 3 weeks for my Huggies coupons to be credited to my account. I finally called diapers.com and the customer service rep. apologized and said they were very behind on updating the mannies and she immediately credited my account. So my advice - mail in your coupons and then call them a couple of days later to have them credited.

-While I was on the phone with her I asked about the Parenting rebate. She said that approximately 2-3 weeks after I receive my diapers I will get a welcome letter from Parenting. If I choose to receive the rebate all I have to do is write "cancel" on it and mail it back. I will receive my check 6-8 weeks later.

I hope this answers any questions that you have about this deal. Let me know how your experience went!!

*As you can see in the picture I did not get the 203 diapers. That is only if you're lucky enough to need the newborn sizes. BUT I did receive 156 diapers (I ordered sizes 3, 4 & 5). And even without getting the rebates from Parenting, Ebates or Caregiver's Marketplace my OOP price/diaper is still less than $.20. Which for Huggies is a pretty good price wouldn't you say?

I know this will come as a shocker to some - I have not been to CVS this week! Can you believe it?? Ok, I have been to CVS (with my Mom) BUT I didn't buy anything. I will be making a trip there on Friday to pick up a couple of things. I'm really waiting for next week when they have Huggies on sale - I will be stocking up.

I did go to Kmart and Walmart today. I had some high dollar coupons that I wanted to use at Walmart - I won't bore you with the groceries that I got there. But I will tell you that I got Kraft dressing for $.08! And I managed to use some of my Huggies $3 off coupons there on wipes :) Kmart is having a huge clearance sale! I bought 3 shirts for myself (not pictured), 2 jackets, fleece jammies, and a shirt for Noah and a pair of pajama pants for Logan. I only paid $32 for all of it! The Tigger fleece winter jacket was marked down to $5.99! I could not believe it.
