Charity Challenge

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

I want to say thank you for joining me in what I hope is the first of many Charity Challenges. I don't have all the "rules" thought up for this challenge so the first couple will be learning experience for all of us :) The only "rule" I have is that you help promote the challenge by linking back here to my blog - that's it! Here is what I will be dropping off this week:

-2 bottles Gillette shampoo
-2 Children's throat coolers
-2 Bayer contour meters
-3 bottles Vaseline lotion
-10 tubes of Colgate toothpaste
-2 tubes of Crest toothpaste
-2 bags of cotton balls
-1 bottle of mouth rinse
-1 bottle of Pedialyte
-1 bottle of earinse
=26 items total

I didn't clean out my entire stockpile but I did make some extra room! I plan on dropping off the items on Wednesday this week. I'm not sure if I'll take them to the same shelter I've been dropping stuff off at or if I will go to a new one.

OK - now it's your turn! Show me how generous you've been :) Leave your link back to your specific Charity Challenge post. Thanks for participating!!

I cleaned out my stockpile bigtime! Just make sure when you clean things out to donate that you keep a detailed receipt. Make a copy for the donation site too - helps them keep track of what they got in, and your accountant will love the detail come tax time :)

I've learned to keep all of my CVS receipts since you never know when you might donate something ;) Usually though the places I've taken the things to have a form that I fill out and I write in the dollar amount (value) of the items I'm dropping off. They then send me a letter with that dollar amount on it which is the only proof needed for the tax write-off. Much easier :)
